You do not need an expensive graphics card to enjoy the benefits of local AI. Aegis Photo Voyager is designed to run on a wide range of hardware, including older laptops.

1. It Is Very Possible

We have extensively tested the application on older laptops featuring standard integrated graphics and 12GB of RAM. By using efficient models like granite3.2-vision:2b, you can achieve full functionality without a dedicated GPU.

2. Patience is Key

Without GPU acceleration, AI processing happens on your CPU, which is slower.

• Per Image: It may take up to several minutes to fully extract information from a single image.
• Full Library: An initial scan of thousands of photos may take days to complete.

3. The Workflow

The application is built to run extraction in the background. You don't need to watch it.

Simply start the process and leave your computer running. As long as the app is open, it will steadily chug through your library, indexing your memories one by one.

4. The Benefit: Zero Cost

Remember: running locally means avoiding cloud charges. While it requires an upfront investment of time for the initial scan, you are not paying a monthly subscription fee to process your own data.
